Cutting out hair properly
Hair cutouts fail at the edges. This workflow keeps them believable on white, dark, and busy backgrounds.
Edge strategy
Mask rather than erase: work on the boundary between subject and background using refine-edge tools, and keep some flyaway strands even if they look imperfect — perfect hair silhouettes read as fake.
The dark background test
Always preview the cutout on a dark fill. A cutout that looks fine on white often shows halos and semi-transparent gaps on black — fix those before delivery.
